While the subtitle generator is fast and about 90% accurate (NOT 99%) it needs several things to improve it.
First, it needs instructions that say more than do this or do that, it needs more. E.g. the instructions say an SRT file can be uploaded and used to generate a more accurate subtitle listing. The instructions DON’T say precisely how to do it. I tried to upload an SRT file by itself and I get the following error message:
“The path you have chosen does not have write permissions, please select another path.”
This is wrong in several ways.
-I didn’t chose a path, I dragged the SRT file into the Subtitle Generator.
-I double checked the folder I dragged it from; the folder DOES HAVE write permissions
A clear set of thorough instructions would most likely eliminate this difficulty.
Secondly, I doesn’t automatically find the language for all video files. I own a TV Rip of Tales of Wells Fargo (1957). It did detect the video language for the first season (which was only 14 episodes) and totally failed to discover the video language for the remaining 5 seasons.
Third, the failure to find the video language exposed another problem, the lack of a settings panel for the subtitle generator. When the video can’t be determined, it needs to be chosen by hand. The seasons that contain 36+ episodes and can’t determine the video language means hand setting for 36+ episodes. That is too much of a PITA to bother with. A settings panel would allow changes to be made to all by chosing the language one time for all entries, the way the Video Converter does.
Please fix these items because I WILL NOT set each separately, I’ll just find a source for the subtitles online. I purchased this module to save myself time and is it not doing that as is.
Thank you,
