upscaler or converter??

hi new to this when trying to change a 1080p into 4k(2160p) is it best to use the upscaler app or use the converter part of software before converting to hdr ??

You can use both, but the faster way is handbrake for this unless you want AI to upscale for you which would be upscaler

OK I tried again i enlarged then converted to hdr on unifab now i get the message

file unplayable dovi (profile 5) colour space is not supported

how can this be fixed any ideas ??

coffee1471578 Please use Enlarger AI first, followed by HDR Upscaler. Enlarger AI can only retain HDR10 and does not support retaining Dolby Vision (Profile 5).

i used enlarger then i used HDR upscaler as you said but all i am getting is

is this the only profile unifab uses profile 5 ? or is there a way to use a different colour profile in dolby
within hdr upscaler ??

so am i right in thinking unifab can only support dolby profile 5 ?

i am suprised your not using dolby profile 7 or 8 as i am sure most people would be using plex players or apple tv boxs and is more compatible

coffee1471578 The reason to use Enlarger AI first and then HDR is because Enlarger AI cannot retain Dolby Vision. If HDR is used last, Dolby Vision (Profile 5) won’t be preserved. Yes, UniFab currently supports only Profile 5, but we are considering support for Profile 8 in the future.
