AI models across board are suffering from a failure to recognize RXT/CUDA on your Mac/PC is what’s happening. The final results from the testing: only RTX Video Enhancer AI (not cloud) is functioning better than normal. Everything else is asking for hardware acceleration to be enabled when it already is.
This expansive bug is also retrograded. If you do not completely remove, 4.2.4.0 in its entirely, reversing to the prior version will not solve the problem. Everyone, make sure you completely uninstall this version (app roaming and all) if you want the normal functions to work again. For some reason, 4.2.4.0 has caused a software based failure to recognize your hardware GPU card (I’ve tested this on 5080, 4080/4090, 3080 RTX cards).
To be perfectly honest, I’ve never seen this happen before in any prior versions. And I highly encourage the development team to complete wipe UniFab 4.2.4.0 as it runs the risk of damaging customers own actual computers if this left unchecked. This version should have never have been released. I’m still working on getting some of the root files removed. I do applaud getting our GPUs somewhat scaled down so they’re not running at 97-100%. I did enjoy RTX Rapid Video Upscaler’s 30-50% range which I wholeheartedly approve of.
But this version just kills the ability to be able to render video from our individual workstations or utilize the AI models across the board with just our own computers. If your GPU is running below 10%, the project will fail.
As best as I can tell, the UniFab 4.2.4.0 release was designed to scale down GPU rendering from the user’s side (you can’t blame them on some level- running our GPU cores close to 100% would damage our CUDA GPU cards at some point). What I suspect happened was the developers inadvertently coded to limit the percentage of our individual GPUs on the user side. But they do need to take this version completely off and spend more time working on the specific coding so it doesn’t impede the numerous paying customers’ workflow on their end (we paid for this software to be able to use without the cloud).
Cloud-based, I didn’t test because there’s no reason for me to use UniFab’s cloud software when I have a couple of computers that were designed for rendering up to 4K video (which is all I really need).
