Why 2 days to 2 weeks to convert?

Playing with the free trial. tried to convert/upscale an older DVD. Used DvdFab to rip to MKV Mpeg-2, 720×480. file is 3.85GB. Being new to UniFab 4.0, I used “Autopilot” (since I am a newbie). “Autopilot” defaulted to:

When I “started” this, I canceled after it said it would take over 300 hours just for the “Upmixer”. Then I disabled everything except “HDR Upconverter” but that said it would take 39:46:30 hours. I also tried just the “Deinterlace AI” but that wanted 47:54:28 hours.

These times seem excessive. I am using my Surface Book 2, Intel i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and Intel UHD Graphics 620.

Is my laptop too old (under powered)? If so, what should I be upgrading to? I want to convert my old DVD collection to UHD or 4K.

Please check your “AI Process” Setting. and make sure select Nvidia Driver Card(GTX 1050).

BTW: The GTX 1050 is a very old graphics card with limited AI capabilities. In the current environment, we recommend using an RTX 40- or 50-series GPU with at least 8 GB of VRAM for work. Additionally, desktop computers offer significantly stronger performance than laptops.
