What did I buy/own when I purchased Unifab lifetime?

So up until now I’ve been pretty happy with this product, been using it about a year now, now with the 4.0 version I think you guys have gone off the deep end

So I have pretty much paid for version 3 lifetime and just upgraded to version 4 lifetime and version 4 seems to be almost a scam at this point.

The older AI models seems have new names in version 4 and Titanus is saying I need to purchased a full version to use it, I have purchased pretty much every model/version why am I being asked to pay for another model within the product I’ve already bought as lifetime version for?

Also in version 4 if I skip Titanus and use one of the other AI upscale models it says it will take multiple days to finish while using the quality version on the version 3 model my rig which uses an RTX 5080 GPU would typically take 2-5 hrs. So this means the AI upscaler is no longer useable on my rig like it was before and now it seems we are being forced to use either a new AI model of steam fab and credits.

I’ve downgraded to version 3.0.3.2 just to get any AI upscale module usable.

So for support please answer me as far as

What did I actually buy with my lifetime pass if I keep having to pay for new stuff? Why are new version and new AI modules costing me?
Why are the AI upscale models in version 4.0 so slow compared to version 3.0? I have an RTX 5080 with 128GB ram it should not take a week to do a normal AI upscale when in version 3.0 it only took hours. It seems the older features are being slowed down to force us to use the new AI model or the cloud version

So I just tested and using version 4.0 and I’m getting like .5 FPS in AI upscale from 1080 to 2160P and using version 3 with the same video I’m getting about 25FPS using the quality oriented version AI on each version. So version 4 is horribly slow even when not using Titanus AI module, .5 FPS VS 25FPS for 1080P to 2160P upscale

Support can DM me for further info, I may look into getting a refund, as I’ve spent hundreds on this program that was working decently with version 3 but now version 4 seems like a way to extract money out of us and make earlier AI modules not work anymore.

I do not want to be stuck on version 3 but if the legacy AI modules in version 4 are .5 FPS vs 25FPS on version 3 that pretty much leaves me no choice but to stay on version 3 and look into another program long term that is reasonably priced and effective.

swanlee1663116 Hello, regarding your first question: You actually don’t need to pay for the UniFab 4.0 version. You can upgrade to 4.0 for free and continue using the original features. Essentially, you only need to pay for new features and major model updates. This has always been our purchasing logic, and we hope you understand, as our current R&D investment is indeed substantial.

Regarding your second question, we do not impose any restrictions on older versions of our products. UniFab only upgrades products and models; we never limit the performance of older versions in any way. Your issue has been forwarded to our technical team for investigation. Based on our testing with the Titanus Model using a 4070Ti processor, the fastest achievable frame rate is over 30 FPS. Meanwhile, the Video Upscaler model in version 3.0, specifically the “General Model,” can reach up to 12 FPS. The 0.5 FPS result likely indicates an issue in one of the processing stages. You may submit a ticket to report the problem.

Please answer the questions instead of deflecting.
What did we buy?
Also if you did not restrict then remove the buy trigger when we try to use the application.
A product needs to have a roadmap, models are part of the roadmap, so what did we buy?

jaklfj45 as mentioned the concept has a lot of definitions, you gave one, I can give ten others. What we are asking is that they clarify what this means as clearly this has not been properly communicated to their current customers.
Now if you are happy with it, fine, but so far you are the only one, I hope there are some functionalities though you are not using as you will run into major issues soon…

Yea I’m getting stuck on various broken things with unifab now,

Version 4.0 is SUPER slow upscaling anything with any module, so I uninstall and reinstall 3.0.3.4 great now the video upscaling works great as before 20-30FPS going from 1080P to 2160P. But guess what? Now the audio upmixing is super slow on 3.0.3.4, it’s telling me it will take a week to upmix 2.0 to 5.1, it would take my pc about 30 mins to do this before
So currently neither version works correctly for different reasons

Also I’ll need to work with support as I have many different module purchases but it is really confusing what I bought and what is redundant

MY PC is very good and is not the issue as previous version of unifab did audio upmixing very quicks

PC specs’s
Intel Ultra 9 285k CPU
128GB 6400MTS ram
RTX 5080 GPU

I’ve put in a support ticket about the audio upmix issue. I’ve used many version of unifab and have never run into this audio upmix issue or the issue when I went to version 4.0

Something is really messed up with these version to cause audio and or video upscaling to crawl.
