The Netherlands has many dialects, but the most widely spoken main dialects are Hollandic (North, South Holland, Utrecht, Amsterdam Flevoland) and Brabantian, both of which are very common and, together with Standard Dutch, have a major influence. Other important dialect groups are Frisian (a separate language), Limburgish, and the Low Saxon dialects (such as Groningen, Drenthe, Twente, Achterhoek) in the north and east, although the use of dialects is generally declining.
