I have snippe/clipped 2 videos from orginal source for testing, with the excellent free tool LosslessCut
I wanted to deinterlace the orginal 25fps interlaced video to 50frames progressive to get smooth playback, AND most mediaplayers do it way better than unifab, and convert it to 50fps on the fly.. BTW i also have Topaz and AVClabs video AI app, and in avclab advanced setting, Analyze interlaced videos, And if i turn that setting off it double the framerates, so it is shown as a 50fps video in the menu when setting up the encode.
In unifab I loaded the test file into converter app compressor app smoother app and interlacer app with same bad result, a bigger output file deinterlaced to progressive 25fps (it did not got done fast either and looked worse than the orginal 38MB deinterlaced mpeg2 SD file in my KMPlayer which show it in smooth 50fps.)
My last hope was the smoother app could somehow get the sourse to 50fps by interpolate frames, but that option was disabled for interlaced videos. And if i got in the preview menu and tried to rend 3 seconds then the right window (output) froze with a green screen. so it don’t like interlaced vids lol
Also the smoother app allow interpolating of frames if i load it progressive videos, but it even fails miserablly (with my 15fps test vid included in the rar file for downloads.
orginal 15fps file is 17MB and output 106 BUT with no improvement in framerate. mediainfo says the encode file is 60 fps but that is fake news as it still jerky as hell. The investment in unifab wasn’t wort the pain i experience, so i come back in half a year and see if several patches has improved the app.
